Just Announced:

The X-tet Is Back This November!

Founded in 2019, The X-tet is Boston Baroque's premier period instrument chamber ensemble. The “X” represents the fluidity of the number of players involved, depending on the concert.

Drawing membership from Boston Baroque’s world-renowned orchestra roster, this ensemble’s core members include GRAMMY-nominated concertmaster Christina Day Martinson, assistant concertmaster Jesse Irons, and principal players Sarah Darling, violin, Jason Fisher, viola, and Michael Unterman, cello.

Historical performance can blossom beautifully in a more intimate setting, where each group member has the space to embellish, experiment, and extemporize! The idea of the X-tet is to bring the energy and virtuosity of Boston Baroque into a dynamic small ensemble where new possibilities can naturally arise.
